It’s Time for a Hot-Girl Talk.

You’ve tried everything. The weight loss supplements, the digital detoxes, heck, you might’ve taken a goat yoga class. But nothing works. You’ve spent all this time and money yet you still feel so very “blah”. You’re most likely scrolling on our page because you’re looking for your next big health obsession. Something that screams, “This is it! Everything you’ve been looking for! The solution to all your problems!”. And while it may not solve all your problems, I can guarantee a hot-girl walk will help. That’s right, you heard me correctly, you need to go on a hot-girl walk.

For those who have been living under a hot-girl rock, let me explain the hot-girl walk. College senior Mia Lind invented this walking routine when she was stressed by finals and needed to clear her head. According to her, the hot-girl walk consists of walking (duh) while thinking of what you’re grateful for, your goals, and how hot you are, my personal favorite. This is a loose definition of course, as every hot girl’s walk is subject to change based on their needs. For me, your designated wellness guru, I use the time to listen to music or a great podcast. There really are only two consistent factors to this walk: walking and thinking of how hot you are.

Other than there being no cost and a great time to wear those new biker shorts you’ve been looking for an excuse to wear, this hot-girl routine has an endless list of mental and physical benefits. But before going into that, I’d like to make one thing clear. The hot girl walk is for everyone. If you’re a 17-year old girl or an 80-year old man, you can participate in a hot-girl walk, though maybe rethink the biker shorts if you identify as the latter.

Anyone can walk. So why hot-girl walk? A hot-girl walk’s purpose is mainly to focus on and boost mental health. It’s exercise and meditation all in one and its main benefit is increasing confidence. Psychologists today believe that a person can improve confidence by adopting the beliefs of confident people. In other words, if you consistently take the time in your daily routine to think of how hot you are, inside and out, you’re eventually going to start embodying that confidence. You may notice people staring as you pass them. You know they’re looking at you and thinking, “Wow, who is that person? I wonder where they’re going? How do I become them?”, and that makes you feel good. Really good. Setting aside time to contemplate your goals also proves to be incredibly beneficial. In fact, neuroscientists have stated that people who can vividly and routinely picture their goals are 1.2 to 1.4 times more likely to actually achieve them than people who don’t.

I won’t bore you with the obvious physical benefits that any amount of walking will do for your body. We’ve all heard in health class that increasing your heart rate with cardio boosts your heart and lung health, burns calories, gets rid of body fat, and releases endorphins into the body. But did you know that walking at an average to above-average pace reduces the probability of death by 20%? I’m trying my walking shoes as we speak!

To summarize, going on a daily hot-girl walk will help you become incredibly successful, the hottest person in the world, and you will also never die! …Just kidding. Although I hope I’ve communicated the benefits to this routine are quite astounding. Incorporating movement and positive self-reflection is a valuable practice for day-to-day well-being. I want everyone to feel as good as I do. So let's lace those shoes up!
